Dog Show 2010
What a wonderful day! Thank you to everyone who worked very hard to make
it such a success. A barking mad £670.30 was raised for local animals.
From the prettiest eyes to the best six legs, to children’s games and
home-made crafts, there was something for everyone to enjoy, as animal
lovers and their furry friends had fun in the sun at West Park, Goole.
This ‘paw-fect’ photo is courtesy of the Goole Times, which shows the
overall winner of the Best In Show celebrating with a victory roll for
the judges to show why he's top dog, with Inspector Sarah Brocklebank
and RSPCA Vice President Ian Cawsey. Roddy and Becky from Vermuyden Vet
Clinic also judged some of the heats with Marjory Dick, a retired Pet
Foods and treats supplier who was recently recruited as a trustee to
Goole RSPCA. Lovely Lilly also won waggiest tail seen below here with her
owner Hannah Madajewski
Thankyou to everyone who supported the Open Garden Day June 20th it raised £542.20 for the branch.

Rabbits and Small Furries Action Day
Goole R.S.P.C.A held a Rabbits and Small Furries Action Day on
Wednesday 7th April at the Scout Hut in Goole. Local animals who hopped
along to the event were offered free advice, vet checks, neutering
vouchers, free treatments and a chance to win luxury rabbit hutches. 9
rabbits and one guinea pig were issued with neutering vouchers, 28
rabbits , 2 guinea pigs and 2 rats were health checked.
Press Officer Georgina Petty said "It was disappointing that the
roadworks caused alot of problems with accessing the event but it was
pleasing that we have been able to provide two fantastic luxury hutches
for very deserving local rabbits. Thanks to all the volunteers and
members of the public who supported us"

News of past Events
Purr-fect Afternoon!
Goole and District RSPCA held an Open Day 12-4pm on Sunday 2nd
August at a fosterer's in Hensall. Traditional games including roll a
penny, hoopla and a coconut shy were enjoyed by animal lovers of all
ages. The ever popular tombola, home made cakes, refreshments and RSPCA
logo stall also kept visitors entertained. Cats and kittens were on
view, one lucky ginger kitten has gained a potential new home as a
result of the Open Day.The event raised a purr-fect £539.70
which will lend a paw to many local animals in the area,
enabling fostering work to continue, funding welfare assistance and
providing a timely boost for future discounted neutering and ID chipping
campaigns.
"It was a fantastic response, thankyou to all the hard working
volunteers and the generous public who made this event a great success.
We hope you can come and support our Sponsored Dog Walk on Sunday 6th
September at 11am from the Waterways Museum in Goole"

DOG SHOW 12 July 2009 West Park Goole
A big thank you to all who attended, your support is much appreciated by
us and the guest charities & stallholders. There was a good variety of
goodies for sale and to win. We had in attendance Hearing Dogs for Deaf
people (stall and display team), Ellerker CATS C.A.T.S, Windy Rescue,
Dog Warden Service, BarkBusters, Martin Frank photography, Dinky
Doughnuts, Cystic Fibrosis.
Thanks also to Pets Pad and Martin Frank Photography who supplied the
prizes. Also thanks to our judges (including Roddy from Vermuydens Vets)
who gave up their time. Thanks as always to Peppers Marquees for their
continual support at this event.
We also carried out microchipping on a few dogs. We promoted our
Sponsored Dog Walk, which is coming up on 6 September 2009, we recruited
a good number of people & pooches. We promoted the photo competition
running until 2 Oct 2009 – lots of application forms were given out.
The weather was kind to us once again as you can see on the selection of
photographs below kindly captured by Martin Frank Photography. Be warned
there are one or two cute dogs on these photos. The classes were as
follows:
Dog with the waggiest Tail
Best Child Handler
Dog with the most appealing eyes
Prettiest bitch or handsome dog
Sausage scurry- 3 heats and a final
The last class was a first for us and was received extremely well; the
dogs had a great time along with the owners, the RSPCA volunteers also
had fun with this one. You will be able to tell which class this was
from the photos. Thanks to you brave soles who entered you made the day
finish on a high.
PS we raised £396.50 for the Goole & District RSPCA.
