SmudgeWhen Smudge (now Oliver) came into foster care he was very shy and timid and we believe he had being living rough for some time. He got lots of TLC from his foster mum and soon started to respond well to human contact. Oliver was adopted three weeks ago and his new mum has sent us a lovely letter she says Oliver has settled in a treat he is no trouble at all, he is clean and well natured and so far he is a real ladies man. His new owners are really pleased to have Oliver and as you can see from the pictures I think Oliver is really pleased to have them.

Smudge

Mrs Foster adopted Smudge and Ginger in September when they were 6 months old .We were delighted to receive a CD full of photos of their first 6 months in their new home-here are 2 of our favourites.

Leonard and Penny (Feb 2010)Leonard and Penny
Approximately 6 months after cats/kittens are adopted from Goole branch a follow up visit is arranged with the adopters to see how the new pet/s have settled in .This can be a pleasure for the foster team to see and hear how the cats are doing. Home visitor Gill was thrilled to see Leonard and Penny who were adopted as kittens and were extremely content in their new home and took this photograph.

Happy EndingThe fostering team were delighted to receive this photo .You may remember Frank who was handreared, he is now Tomas and is on the on the left of the photo he was adopted 4weeks ago and went into a home with 2 cats its a joy to see with a patient owner cats can get along as a family.

             Happy Endings

Whiskers and FriskyYou may remember the sad tale of Whiskers and Frisky who at almost 3yrs had never gone out , they were two big cats who were in foster care for many months before they were rehomed. Two of our fostering team went to do their followup visit recently and are delighted to report how happy and well the boys are.

Bella
Bella
We picked up Bella and Lani from a foster home near Goole last May and we just celebrated a year of having them with us. They are such great cats, very loving and sweet, but playful and entertaining too! They now have a habit of bringing me little "gifts" when I'm unwell; mice, birds, at various stages of life and death and one small bat! They are very lovely otherwise. I'm so glad we came to the RSPCA for our kittens, we wouldn't be without them now.
Harry  Harry is absolutely adorable, right from the start he just fitted in and took every new step in his stride, see the attached photo of him with our dog Beetle.

I have had many cats and he out loves them all, he is so affectionate and spends most of his time wherever I am. I shall recommend anyone to adopt from the RSPCA. Thank you so much.
Moses

Moses
Larry now named Moses came into the RSPCA as a stray he was a feline with real catittude. One minute he was very loving and friendly and next he would give you a nip, we knew we needed a special home for him. Suzie and Marco saw him on the website and after a successful home visit came to see him, true to form he was very loving but still gave them both a nip. Thankfully this did not put them off and they adopted him, they say: "Moses has settled really well and is now part of the family. I have less scars than a few weeks ago, although we still fight (everyday)".

"He has found his feet and his cheek and at times can be quite brazen. The cat that will eat practically anything has left us to be replaced by one that really likes the finer (and more expensive) cuisine."

Moses is now part of a very loving family and as you can see from the pictures seems very contented.

Tufty Graham, now called Mistigri, was adopted by Catherine in October. He was found wandering around as an unwanted stray.
She recently contacted us with this lovely update.

I never thought I was a cat person, and I was not sure at all I would be able to look after a cat, so I am really proud of Mistigri! He is the most wonderful cat ever; house-trained whether it be litter, cat-flap; as soon as he came in the house he was never shy to hide behind the sofa. He's very sociable, does not shy away from visitors; very easy-going, sleeps in his bed on my bed. Extremely clean, will meow until I let him out if I'm a bit slow to understand! Does not jump on worktops or up the curtains. Does not bring back half-dead birds or other wildlife. Follows me like a pup in the garden and like to play hide and seek!!! Eat any biscuit but not greedy, won't have chicken, or fish, or ham, or prawns. He went to the cattery for 2 weeks at Christmas and was no trouble at all. He's pet-logged, has every vaccination possible, worm and flea spot-ons. Does not bite or scratch, he's very patient and will only catch my hand if I insist on teasing him, never drawing blood or hurting. He's the perfect cat for a beginner!!!

Danny

When Danny was brought to us from Goole, he was too poorly to neuter at first as he was thin and bedraggled - a really sad case. Christine fostered him and he seemed to get on with other cats. So we are delighted to hear from Julie and Gary who recently adopted him;

"Around 3 weeks ago I lost a very dear old cat aged seventeen and although I had three other cats there seemed to be a big gap in our household. Since then we were given the OK for adoption very quickly following our home visit - we are very grateful to Jane & Terry for sorting that out so fast for us"

"We then heard straight away that a 6 month old cat was being fostered by Christine. She sorted out all his jabs etc. A week ago I collected him and in the seven days since he has settled in so well. He was obviously really happy at Christine's particularly with her two children, so I think it took a good few days for him to adjust"

"Our girl cats are still getting used to him but the youngest looks set to be his best friend (as long as she is boss!) We've called him "Danny" because he is a long haired ginger and so a bit Irish looking..."

"One week on he is now having fun indoors and has been outside a little bit and this morning I am afraid he caught his first mouse! So this is to say a big thanks for making it all possible. He's a wonderful little cat and we look set to be a very happy household once again - the only losers are the local mouse population I think!"

Thanks to Julie and Gary for giving him a life long purr-fect home! - I think you'll agree he looks a happy boy in these pictures!
